BUILDERS CLEANING INSIGHTS

Builders Clean vs Regular Clean: What Is the Difference?

A builders clean is designed for a property that has just been built, renovated or repaired. It tackles construction residue and prepares the space for inspection, photography, occupancy or handover. A regular house clean maintains a property that is already in use.

Construction dust is different

Fine plaster, timber and concrete dust settles inside cupboards, window tracks, vents and small gaps. Removing it safely requires methodical vacuuming and repeated detailing rather than a quick surface wipe.

There are more surfaces to check

Builders cleaning includes joinery interiors, labels, protective films, fixtures, skirting, frames, tracks, glazing and newly installed appliances. The scope is closely connected to the build and handover standard.

Residue needs careful removal

Paint spots, adhesive, grout haze and silicone marks must be treated according to the surface. Aggressive scraping or unsuitable chemicals can permanently damage glass, tiles, cabinetry or flooring.

Timing matters

The clean should happen after dusty trades finish but early enough to allow a final inspection. If work continues after cleaning, targeted touch-ups may be needed before the client arrives.

For the best result, share the property size, build stage, access details and handover date when requesting a quote. This allows the cleaning team to plan the right crew, time and equipment.
